The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) has lost a 51-year-old lieutenant Mbaye Faal from the country’s navy.

Lieutenant Faal will be laid to rest today 21th January, 2021, at his residence in Kerr Serign at 2:00 pm.

Faal was said to have passed away in the early hours of Tuesday 19th January 2021.

“The sad news is extended to His Excellency the President Adama Barrow, the Hon Minister of Defence and Cabinet Ministers, his family members, relatives and friends in The Gambia and abroad,” a message from the Army stated.

Major Lamin Sanyang, spokesperson for GAF, described Faal as a nice and gentle officer.
