By Saikou Suwareh Jabai Badinyaa One Family Promotion in collaboration with LINKS Courier Company Limited in United Kingdom, Friday May 15, 2015, donated sanitary and cleansing items to the Brikama Health Center (BHC) at a ceremony held at the beneficiary’s premises. The donated items include Rubber Gloves, Latex Exam Gloves and other sanitary materials. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Alieu Darboe, the National Coordinator of Badinyaa One Family Promotion, told the gathering that their aim is to promote health and complement the efforts of the government. “Badinyaa would continue promoting its slogan ‘A healthy nation is a wealthy nation’, as no nation can progress in the absence of good health,” he said. Darboe said this donation by Badinyaa and Links Courier is in line with social responsibility of both organisations as they are committed to supporting BHC. Sulayman M. Sanyang, the CEO of Badinyaa One Family Promotion, for his part, urged the beneficiaries to properly manage the donated items, emphasizing that the items are in good condition and of high quality. “Equally, Badinyaa is appealing to all within Brikama and the surroundings to embrace the voluntary work by the young volunteers and join them in their quest to promote a healthy environment,” he said. He lauded the proprietor of Links Courier, Dean Richardson, for his support to the country’s health sector. Babucarr Touray, Liaison Officer between the BHC and Badinyaa, in receiving the items on behalf of the Officer In-Charge, described the donors as promoters of health who are genuine partners and agents of change. “This is the second time in course of one month that Badinyaa has been presenting items to the facility (BHC) and as we are now witnessing this presentation, I want to inform you that it is the donated detergents that are being presently used to clean the facility,” he revealed. Touray expressed gratitude to the two organisations for what he described as “their tireless support to the facility for the past six years”. He also assured them that beneficiaries acknowledge their support and are grateful to them. Other speakers included Ba-Yaya Demba, Ba-Almammy Manneh, a staff at the facility, and Alhagie Dibbassy, the Blood Donor Recruiter at the Blood Bank Department at the Facility, who all lauded the efforts of the organisations and noted that the initiative is worth emulating.]]>
