Organization of Islamic Cooperation The Gambia (OIC) Secretariat, in collaboration with the Department of Physical Planning and Housing, is embarking on a study of the 40 meter road reserve on both sides of the Bertil Harding Highway.
This development came on Thursday, 7th January, 2021, when the OIC Gambia secretariat issued a press release stating that the aforesaid study is aimed at making a detailed inventory of all existing structures within the 40M road reserve.
According to OIC Gambia, the 14-day exercise is part of the ongoing preparatory efforts ahead of the construction of the 22km road, from the Airport to Sting Corner.
“The Bertil Harding Highway-Sting Corner road will be expanded to a dual carriage, and will include streetlights, pathways, and drainage systems,” OIC Gambia stated.
The OIC Secretariat thus called on the cooperation and support of the general public, particularly homes and businesses along the Bertil Harding Highway.
