THUNDERSTORM KILLS TWO, RENDERS ONE HOSPITALISED

A thunderstorm that struck a tree at the Kumbija football field in Sabach Sanjal District on 19th September 2015, has claimed the lives of two individuals and rendered one hospitalised.Juka Touray of Kumbija Village and Modou Jallow of Teindeyto Village, the victims, who are in their late twenties, met their untimely dead when a thunderbolt struck the tree under which they were taking shelter during the rain and they died on the spot.
According to an eyewitness, the incident happened between 5 pm and 6 pm, during a football match between Kumbija FC and Sinchu Pallen FC at the Kumbija football field while it was raining.
Eyewitnesses say as the rain persisted the two went under a tree to look for shelter and while there, a thunderbolt struck the tree and claimed the lives of the deceased on the spot.
Pa Jaiteh, an eyewitness was seriously injured and was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.
When contacted, Samba Louma step father to Juka confirmed the story and went further to state that Juka is survived by a wife and two kids.
Neneh Secka the wife of Juka is currently breastfeeding her second child.
A family member of Pa Jaiteh said Pa is admitted at SaraKunda Hospital and is responding positively to treatment.
Juka and Modou were laid to rest at Kumbija and Tenndeyto respectively. Modou Jallow according to sources was newly married.
