By Sulayman Bah Gambia wrestling national team captain Leket and rival Mboran are optimistic with each vowing to undo the other ahead of their Saturday’s clash. The two squared in a pre-match war-of-words battle recently but the general feeling was one of circumspection and calm on the night of the face-to-face. ‘I will flatten you come the day,’ said Leket to which Mboran responded ‘by God’s will wrestle you down.’ Mboran’s last fixture was a victory over Manduwar of club Jeff Jell based on referee decision at the Independence Stadium. Leket Bu Barra on the other hand, managed to pick the spoils in a scintillating pairing that ended after fifteen minutes. His opponent Kojaro, gave the Gambian captain a 15-minute scare in the regional competition at the Buffer Zone two months ago. The Barra-born wrestler boasts of an unbeaten record in the arena beating Boy Bakau, Manduwar, Jokardo and Kojaro along the way. But in Mboran he’s touted to have nothing less than a tough battle. ]]>
