Alleged drug dealer Paulo Djabi, who was prohibited by the court from leaving the Gambia before granting him bail, has requested court’s permission to travel for medical reasons.

The application has been opposed by State Lawyers. The Attorney General Chambers challenged the request in an affidavit (statement).

He is facing 15 criminal charges of money laundering and drug-related offences. He denied the charges and the court granted him bail.

Senior State Counsel Lamin Jarju informed the court that they have filed their affidavit in-opposition on the 12th of April 2024 opposing the application filed by Counsel Kadijatou Jallow on behalf of Paulo Djabbi. Lawyer Kadijatou Jallow informed the court that she did not receive the document and she was served in court. She requested time from the court to go through the affidavit in opposition filed by the State. The court granted Counsel Jallow the chance to go through the affidavit in opposition. The case was adjourned to 14th May 2024 for hearing on the application by Pablo.
