Gambia Police spokesperson has on Friday confirmed the appointment of Ensa Badjie alias “Jesus” as regional Police Commissioner.
Badjie, who was serving as Deputy Crime Management Coordinator of The Gambia Police Force, replaced Commissioner Omar Darboe as Commissioner of Police in Upper River Region, according to ASP Lamin Njie.
He said: “We confirm the official re-assignment of Commissioner of Police Ensa Badjie (Jesuse) to URR as regional Police Commissioner.’’
He added Commissioner of Police Omar Darboe is designated to IEC as Police liaison officer in April 2020.
In February 2020, the ex- Police boss was reinstated into the Police and deployed to the Crime Management Unit.
Badjie was arrested, detained, charged and jailed during rule of ex- Gambian President – Yahya Jammeh. He was later released after ex-Gambian leader granted them amnesty.
