Fatoumatta Sillah, PRO of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) has said they are ready to respond to the complaints of the people as they are there for them.
Foroyaa had received complaints from residents which were put before her. In response she said there are some who render various services such as rubbish collection and cleaning the gutters, though they are not assigned by KMC. She added that had it been the council they would not have left the rubbish taken out of the gutters behind but would have cleaned the area and taken it away. She assured that they will always remove waste from all places so long as they are aware of it because that is their job.
She argued that since they are at the service of the people if they have any problems let them come and complain to them and their problems will be solved as soon as possible. She said without the people their office is useless.
PRO Sillah said she is pleading to the people to come forward if they have any problems regarding dumping of waste or anything, “that is why I gave my number to people to call me if they have a problem,” she asserted.
