On Tuesday 12 April 2016, PURA gave a directive to all GSM companies to put a halt to free night calls to its subscribers.
The GSM companies in turn sent an alert message to all their subscribers informing them of the directive of PURA.
The message which sent by Africell, Qcell and Comium to their subscribers reads:
Dear subscriber, as per PURA directive we hereby inform you that effective to night the free night calls will be stopped. We apologize for any inconveniences.
PURA head office was visited at Kairaba Avenue to investigate the matter, in particular the reason for their directive, but the receptionist told this reporter that the board of directors was at the national assembly at the time.
Foroyaa will accordingly inform the public as soon as it gets PURA’s comments on the matter.
