The National Reconciliation Party (NRP) has filed nomination papers for 5 candidates to contest the forthcoming National Assembly election for the North Bank Region. The candidates are Ebrima Choi for Lower Nuimi, Buba Camara for Jokadu, Modou Bousso for Upper Nuimi, Ousman Touray for Sabach Sanjal and Bubacar Makalo for Lower Badibou. The nominations were tabled before the Regional Independent Electoral Commission Returning Officer who also doubles as the Director of Operation, IEC, Mr. Ensa Baldeh. He accepted their submissions and validated their documents and said they are in accordance with the electoral laws of the country.
Speaking to this reporter after his nomination, Ousman Touray, who is vying for Sabach Sanjal Constituency, said he running for the position of a national assembly member to in order to help his people attain their development aspirations. He lamented the difficulties the people of Sabach Sanjal face during the rainy seasons while travelling to Farafenni. He said, “I will advocate for the government to invest in agriculture and education”. Touray finally called on all NRP supporters especially those rallying behind him to advocate for peace and to campaign peacefully.
