By Muhammad Bah In the adjournment debate on Tuesday, 26 August, 2014, National Assembly Members decried the poor road conditions in the rural area and the effect it has on people’s movements and the economy Hon. Menata Njie, the NAM for Kiang West, decried the condition of the roads in her constituency, describing them as dilapidated and in need of maintenance for easy movement of transport. She said the bad roads have even affected the businesses in Kiang West, citing a hotel which, she said, is no longer doing a normal business because of the bad roads. Hon. Habibou K. Jawo, the NAM for Jimara, commented on the poor condition of the roads in the rural area, adding that most of these roads need maintenance. He said travelling during the raining season on these roads is always a problem for them. He called on the Ministry of Works, Infrastructure and Constructions to act in order to make these roads motorable for vehicles transporting people and goods.]]>
