By Saikou Suwareh Jabai Brikama Missira Youth and Children Development Association (MYCDA), on Sunday, 31May, embarked on a road rehabilitation exercise at Studio One Avenue in Missira. Speaking at the exercise, Alieu Darboe, Coordinator of the Association, who also doubles as the Secretary General of Brikama Missira Village Development Committee (VDC), noted that the main idea behind the exercise is to fulfill their obligation to the community in the form of community service. ‘’Missira Youth and Children Development Association was shaped out of love, commitment and dedication,’’ he said. According to him, since their main aim is to promote development, it would be very vital to start such a humanitarian work in their very own home, adding that the Association would never hesitate to engage in such community service. He said for one to be called a patriot, you should serve the interest of your people and the young volunteers have indeed demonstrated to all that they have the interest of Missira at heart as the road rehabilitation would in no doubt ease the burden of mobility in the area as the rainy season is approaching. The Chairman Brikama Missira VDC, Jim Danjo, lauded the Association for their foresight and dedication towards the advancement of Missira, noting that serving the interest of the people is indeed commendable and encouraging. Yankuba Daffeh, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Brikama Missira Village Development Committee (VDC), thanked the Association for the humanitarian gesture they rendered to their community. He urged the members to continue their good work for their community while appealing for the promotion of unity and understanding among them at all times. Siaka Bojang, Secretary General MYCDA, in his brief remarks, said they are established just to partake in the development of their community and that they will not shy away from this responsibility.
