A Gambian player last week risked the ire of his ccoach when he flouted with club regulations, it has emerged.Saihou Jagne 1

Saihou Jagne was given a short-term break by third tier Norwegian club Hamkam to afford the striker chance to attend to an urgent family matter in Sweden but failed to return on time.

It was agreed that the former AIK Solna goal-poacher would return last week Friday but the 30-year-old was no where to be seen and did not attend the club’s final training session ahead of a make or break league tie over the weekend.

The situation left HamKam’s coach Kent Bergersen seething over prospect of having to do without marquee signing Saihou.

And despite the side managing to win that game on a convincing 3-0 score, Jagne was summoned to a showdown talks with the club coach and the board when he finally returned.

In that meeting, the player was chastised before being given a set of guideline rules and warned over his future conduct.

Story of  the one-time capped Gambian, emerging only this week, has been a severe source distraction coming at a time when the side needed the striker most as the chase to secure spot in the second tier intensified.

Saihou who scored over ten goals last campaign has 12-month left of his current contract.
