Instead of political figures behaving like state persons who concentrate on national issues, political mediocrity is creeping in where those who claim to have accepted a code of conduct to guide the words and deeds of political figures are now engaged in character assassination and name calling to promote political agenda. Political parties are now mushrooming because of the achievement of the Coalition. It is the achievement of the Coalition that enabled many Gambians to return home to claim their birth right.

It is now for the political figures to clear their acts and ensure that they embrace political decency. They should focus on the national interest in all their undertakings as political parties and political activists.
