Scorpion-hopeful Kristian Brix this week inspired his club to a Cup competition victory scoring a crucial goal as Kristian BrixFredrikstad ditched Østsiden in the first round.

The 25-year-old midfield-cum defender joined the fray in the second-half after starting the previous league match. His introduction quickened the game’s pace as Fredrikstad intensified their campaign to cruise over the third tier side.

But it was nit until the second phase that the hosts stunned the visitors, opening the scoring before adding another minutes on.

The situation forced gaffer Halvorensen to throw in Brix who has a Gambian parentage and was courted by the Gambia Football Federation. The move paid off as Kristian went on to equalize after Fredikstad had initially reduced the deficit.

The goal livened up the Scorpion-hopeful and his teammates who later snatched the winner in a dramatic comeback to make it 3-2 to seal a place in the second round.

Brix joined the second tier Norwegian side after leaving first tier Bodo Glmit who opted against offering him a contract renewal after disagreement over the player’s request for pay rise.
