Club Djurgarden this week rebutted claims of an ongoing negotiation
for Omar Colley to move to Espanyol.
22-year-old Gambia international Colley became a subject of
speculations after reports emerged claiming the Spainish Laliga club hasbegun negotiations with the Stockholm-based giants over signing the
former Wallidan stopper.
Rumours strongly have it that an initial offer has been tabled by
the Espanyol to formalize their interest and possibly fend off
overtures from other suitors keen on acquiring the erstwhile Real de
Banjul man.
However Bosse Andersson, sporting director of Djurgarden –employers of
Colley –has acted swiftly denying the reports insisting no round table
discussions have taken place regarding a bid, less Colley leaving the
club.
The left-back has been an invaluable asset for DIF earning rave reviews for
his stellar performances in his debut season.
This is not the first time the Scorpion is being linked with a January
exit with an array of clubs from within Europe notably Ajax and French
sides all said to be keeping tabs on his progress.
Omar has twenty-four months more left of his current deal and any
formal offer will only delight Djurgarden considering the amount he
was bought for from Finnish premier league side KuPS.
