Sulayman Marreh may miss the remaining four games for Gabon
qualifiers, Foroyaa Sport can report.
Marreh sustained an injury in around his anterior cruciate ligament,an abrasion much more serious than the previous one which sidelined
him for nearly four months.
The 20-year-old picked up the wound in his knee while on an outing for
Laliga club Granada’s reserves forcing his replacement half-way to the
match.
Scans later conducted by club doctors confirm the influential
midfielder could be out on the pitch peripheries for up to eight to
nine months with some other reports suggesting even next year.
The news shatters the former Samger Football Club ace’s ambition to
play regular Laliga football this year.
While Granada face a race against time to secure his replacement by
raiding the transfer market before its closure the soreness of the
news hits worst the Gambia national team where the buccaneering
midfielder had been a permanent fixture since coming of age in 2013.

Gambia slugs it out with Mauritania in March likely in Senegal and
this development comes as an unwelcome distraction to whoever is
appointed to fill the Scorpions managerial hot-seat.
While Tijan Jaiteh, Mamut Saine, Ebrima Sohna Marreh could fill the void
of the midfielder’s absence, his presence could sure wary fans.
A date is now being scheduled for the pass-maker to go under the
knife. Sulayman has been haunted by a catalogue of injuries hampering
his fast climb to the A team since joining Granada three years ago.
