Foroyaa was interested in finding out those parties and individuals who have collected nomination forms in order to have an idea of who the probable contestants of the presidential election would be. When contacted for the Independent Electoral Commission declined to disclose the names and sexes of the persons and political parties that have collected nomination forms, or even the number of persons or individuals that have done so.
This means that the electorate will be kept in the dark as far as this issue is concerned. This is not transparency, but the IEC’s motto is fair-play, integrity and transparency.
