Sanna Kanteh, a philanthropist and native of Fadia kunda, who is based in Spain, has donated materials including footballs, trophies, notebooks and pens for referees and officials to eight communities and two schools.

The beneficiary villages are Jah kunda, SareNgai, Kulari, Sare Hamadi, Sare Golly, Kuwonkunding, Touba Bureh and Chammoi Bunda, while the beneficiary schools are Jah Kunda Lower Basic School and Jah kunda Arabic School respectively.

All these beneficiary communities received footballs, a trophy, notebooks and pens.

Sarjo Ceesay, a youth leader in Fadia kunda, said the donation was part of Sanna’s annual gesture towards Fadia kunda football club, which he has been doing for more than a decade.

“Sanna has been rendering support to the youths of this community annually for more than a decade now, through sport and other areas. We felt that we cannot use all that he brought for us and we decided to invite our neighbouring communities for them to benefit from it,” he said.

Ceesay said: “He fully sponsored the establishment of the village water facility where clean drinking water is flooding throughout the village with animal drinking points,” he said.

The youth leader expressed his profound gratitude for the gesture and also called on other philanthropists and individuals to emulate Sanna.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Ousainou Touray from Kuwonkunding, thanked the donor and the youth of Fadia kunda for giving them chance to benefit from the gesture.

“On behalf of my fellow beneficiaries, I thank Sanna Kanteh for his tireless assistance to the youths, but especially to the youths of Fadia kunda for giving us a chance to benefit from this gesture. This is a clear testimony that the youth in this area are together as one, and they also taught us a lesson so that next time, if any one of us get this kind of assistance, we can share with others,” he said.
