By Kebba Jeffang The whereabouts of Mr. Bai Jobe Njie, the father of Modou Njie, an ex-military officer of the Gambia Armed Forces who was said to be part of the insurgents that attacked the Presidential palace is still not known, 25 days after he was taken into custody. A Source, giving an update, said, “Since his arrest around 2 am on Friday morning, 2nd January, 2015 to now he has not been seen or heard from, nor is his whereabouts known to the family. We are just praying for him to return home as soon possible to end our nightmare.” It could be recalled that Foroyaa reported the arrest of Bai Jobe Njie , the father of Modou Njie who was a member of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) before leaving for Germany sometime ago and is alleged to be involved in the 30 December, 2014 Presidential palace attack. The officers who arrested him made him board a numberless pick-up vehicle. A family source who spoke to Foroyaa at the time said the aging father was arrested in his residence at Tallinding Dumos on the 2nd January, 2015 and whisked away by two plain clothes officers. The statement released by the government indicated that one Modou Njie was captured and was helping them with their investigation.
