238 Bags of Chinese Donated Rice Distributed in Lamin Village

Chinese Donated Rice

In Lamin village Kombo North district, a total of 238 bags of  rice donated by the Chinese government was distributed in seventeen Wards on Monday 23rd October 2017.

The Rice was received by Mr. Ebrima Bojang and some of the village elders including the Chief of the District Mr. Demba Sanyang, for onward distribution to the villagers.

Mr. Ebrima Bojang the younger brother of the Alkalo of Lamin village speaking on behalf the Alkalo Mr. Mbemba Bojang said, Lamin village comprises seventeen wards and that during their meeting, the elders and the VDC of the village agreed to distribute the rice according to the wards in the village. Mr. Bojang said they agreed to distribute the bags according to the population of each ward, with the ward that has the biggest density of people, receiving more bags of rice.

According to Mr. Bojang, the bags of rice was received by the Chairman of the wards and their committee members, who then took the responsibility of the distribution within their wards.

Mr. Ebrima Bojang thanked this medium for informing the people of what is happening particularly regarding the distribution of the donated rice within their communities; that this will give more transparency to what they are doing; that he wants to seize the opportunity to inform the villages that the number of bags of rice they received from the office of the Chief was 238 bags, instead of the 338 bags of rice, that was earlier reported; that they will let all the villagers know the outcome of the distribution when all ward heads report back to them.
