Modou Ceesay currently residing in the Mbulmanda in Bansang, is seeking medical assistance to facilitate his treatment overseas.
Ceesay, who suffers from a plain left hip pains, said since he was discharged from the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul, his health status has not improved.
“Since when I was discharged from hospital on the 30th September 2019, my health condition has not improved up to date,” he said. The 22-year-old said he wrote to the Ministry of Health seeking support for overseas treatment, but this did not happen.
According to the medical report, an X-ray has been carried out and it shows avascular necrosis of the left femoral head and started on strong analgesic, but there is no improvement. The X ray added that he needs total hip replacement that is not done in the country due to lack of prosthesis.
