Gambia Women’s team will tomorrow tussle Guinea Bissau in a friendly match.

The Scorpions are preparing to the take on the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone next month and tomorrow’s exhibition game seeks to provide gaffer Mariam Bom-Sowe chance to access her regiment of soldiers.

The Freetown games certainly promises to be a two-legged grudge match.

The Scorpions prevailed over the She-Lone Stars when the two sides met before marching on cruise over Tunisia to make the Azerbaijan World Cup – a maiden international success that turned an expensive embarrassment after Gambia got shipped quite a chunk of goals.

That woeful exit, to this day, threatens to overshadow the team’s pride of having to qualify to a Women’s U-17 World Cup for the first time.

The Scorpions’ tactician has Adama Tamba and Mbassey Darboe –both ruthless strikers –at his disposal.

Saturday’s game to be held at the Independence Stadium, begins at 4:30 pm and there is no charging for entrance –meaning tickets are for free.

Below is the list of players in camp for Saturday’s must-watch fixture.

Aminata Gaye, Aminata Darboe, Mariama Ceesay, Amie Jarju, Mariama Bojang, Dodou Joof, Clara Gomez, Mama Saidy, Mami Silva, Awa Jawo, Awa Tamba, Meta Sanneh, Binta Colley, Fanta Jarju, Penda Bah (captain), Mam Drammeh, Isatou Jallow, Mbassy Darboe, Adama Tamba (second captain), Aminata Camara, Jabou Jobateh, Fatou Dukureh and Aji Jallow.

Meanwhile, it is also said that the Guinean side will be proposed to play with the U17 female team after the encounter with the senior side in order to help them in their preparation for their next game against Serra Leone.
