The rumours are rife but we would not want to spread them. In the absence of a Press Release from Government and MRC or a parliamentary question from a bold member of Parliament, the air is still polluted with rumour. MRC is a major institution whose potential in the promotion of tropical medicine has not been fully tapped. The Gambia could be a major centre for International research in tropical medicine which could have given the medical school a boost in the quality and relevance of the education it delivers. The authorities should grant interviews or issue Press Release to clarify the issue of the Ebola Vaccine and the status of the MRC.]]>
