QUESTION OF THE DAY
One of the most challenging periods of the Jammeh administration is when news broke out that nine prisoners on death row had been executed. This brought about tension in the country that eventually led to orchestrated visits to state house by religious leaders and council of elders to ask him to put a moratorium on the death penalty.
Now that some prisoners have been sentenced to death it is important that we understand what the Constitution says on the death penalty and what the moratorium means. Foroyaa will explore this in the next edition.
