WHY CAN’T THE MINISTRY AND THE BOARD OF THE FERRY SERVICES HOLD A PRESS CONFERENCE ON FERRY SERVICES?

46

In these past months, the ferry services have been erratic to say the least and dangerous at the worst. Disaster was looming. Our readers are still uncertain whether the dangers have come to pass. It is the ministry and the governing authority of the Gambia Ferry Services Company Limited who should allay fears by giving information to the public.

Foroyaa has received information that one of the ferries has been repaired, but is not certain whether proper tests have been done of its sea worthiness.

On the other hand, it is circulating in the media that a Turkish ferry privately owned is about to join the fleet to transport vehicles on the Barra/Banjul route.

Foroyaa will conduct investigation on the state of affairs of ferry crossing between Barra and Banjul. We hope there will be no need to knock on one door or the other, but that the authorities will call a press conference to clear the air once and for all.
