Farmers who have taken their groundnuts to some of these depots say that they spend days after taking their groundnuts to the depot waiting for the groundnuts to be purchased, resulting to long queues in these depots.

Needless to say, delays in purchases does increase transport costs to the farmer who wishes to sell groundnuts at the depot. No one can deny that speed and efficiency in the sale of the nuts will, on the other hand, encourage farmers to take their nuts to the depots.
