Who is the opposition Coalition backing as Presidential Candidate?
The opposition Coalition, comprising Dr. Isatou Touray plus all the opposition parties except GDC, is backing Mr. Adama Barrow.
Mr. Barrow is to submit his nomination papers today as an Independent Candidate. This puts him in a situation where no single party will take ownership of his victory if he does win the presidential election on 1 December 2016.
This new development makes the 2016 presidential election an interesting one. No one denies that it will be hotly contested.

Today, Adama Barrow will also demonstrate his political weight as supporters of his candidature accompany him for nomination.
Tomorrow, the incumbent is also to tender his nomination papers for approval by the IEC for him to stand as a candidate.
