QUESTION OF THE DAY
According to Section 97 of the Constitution, the President will make a proclamation to indicate where the first session of the National Assembly should be held after an election and by implication and the date.
However, since the Speaker and Deputy Speaker must be elected from the nominated members the President must equally search for competent members to nominate so that the members would elect, a Speaker and Deputy speaker who are fit to preside over the affairs of the Assembly.
One would expect that consideration of the composition of the nominated members would precede the appointing of the date for the first Session.
