Mr. Seedy Jaiteh, a former Human Resource Director at Gamcel, has clocked two years incommunicado at the Mile Two prison, in seedy-jaitehthe maximum security wing without access to his wives or relatives, a family source revealed.

Sources say that they have been visiting the prison on several occasions but prison officers never allow them to see him. ‘‘We used to beg the said officers to give us only a chance to talk to our loved one but what they always tell us is that they do not have an order from the top to allow us inside,’’ the source said.

The family source who was in tears while speaking to this reporter through phone, concluded by calling on the authorities to release Mr Jaiteh, husband of two wives and father of a child. ‘‘We were hoping that the state would release all people in detention without any charge, him but we are yet to see light at the end of the tunnel. Also we don’t know the reason why they keep him languishing in prison without any communication with him,” the source lamented.

It was reported earlier that the 54 year old was arrested in November 2010 and taken to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul, where he spent days before he was arraigned before the high court and later convicted on 20 October 2012. Reports disclosed that he was released in February 2014 after serving his jail term.

While enjoying his freedom after serving his jail term, he was rearrested by the state agents at his residence in Manjai Kunda in the late hours of the morning on 27 August 2014 and then taken to the NIA headquarters, where he was held until 3 September, before being sent to Mile Two where he has been up till now.
