What Will The By Elections In Ker Jarga Ward And Niamina West Reveal?

QUESTION OF THE DAY

The National Assembly seat in Niamina West was occupied by the GDC. The Council Seat for Ker Jarga Ward was also handled by GDC. Instead of remaining an Independent Candidate the incumbent President has formed a political party. This means that the party will be testing its electoral strength.

Since GDC held both seats in these two elections, it would be the incumbent. If it fails to take any of the seats it would reflect a drop in its support base.

Would the other political parties leave the two by elections to GDC and NPP so that they would not divide the votes in such a way that a clear winner would not emerge or would they contest to test their strength? Time will tell.

Foroyaa will follow developments and report accordingly. Saturday is the D Day.
