QUESTION OF THE DAY
Uncertainty will prevail again. The Emergency will lapse in seven days if it is declared. It would be more difficult to hold the executive accountable for past breaches because of Assembly’s inaction. The media should engage the National Assembly members to explain why they are abdicating their responsibility to debate an issue of such National importance.
The public has a right to know what is really going on regarding the declarations of a state of public emergency and why The National Assembly appears impotent in conducting its oversight role and hold the executive accountable to the people.
