Fish processors have been accused of using chemicals which is harmful to human health to preserve their fish stock. The Food Safety and Quality Authority has become interested in the allegation and has been led to conduct tests in order to determine the safety of using such products to preserve fish.

Their findings reveal that the chemicals used to preserve fish products in The Gambia are indeed harmful. It is therefore important that the public become vigilant in order to prevent loss of human life. Foroyaa will continue its observations.
