Foroyaa has been following the law enforcement environment in order to promote community policing in our criminal justice system. The paper has been discouraging any practice of granting police bail with condition of daily reporting without ever preferring charges against the arrestee. The law enforcement officers have been encouraged.
It is also equally important for citizens to recognise their obligation under law as indicated in the directive principle in the Constitution under section 220 that all citizens must be committed to the rule of law, due process and democracy.
It is important to uphold such principles to prevent law enforcement agents to come into direct confrontation with those who demonstrate without receiving the support and protection of law enforcement agents.
