By Alhagie F.S Sora The permanent secretary at the Ministry of Works, Construction and Infrastructure, Mr Momodou Camara indicated yesterday that the dues of the former Gambia Public Transport Corporation (GPTC) will soon be settled. He gave this indication in an interview at his office in Kanifing. GPTC was closed down in 2012 but former employees are yet to receive their terminal benefits. “We have written to the Ministry of Justice for legal advice and they have now responded, and we have done all the necessary work on their files and sent them to finance.”He said their dues will soon be settled. He concluded by re-iterating that the claims of some staff of the former GPTC Company will soon be a thing of the past. Recently, the Solicitor General indicted in an interview with Foroyaa, that they were done with the file of the GPTC staff and had handed over the files to the Ministry of Works. The issue was one time discussed at the National Assembly and assurance was given that they would be paid all their entitlements.]]>
