JOURNALIST SANA CAMARA STILL REPORTING ON BAIL

By Mustapha Jallow Journalist Sana Camara, a reporter at The Standard, a daily paper in TheJournalist Sana Camara Gambia, was again asked to report at the Police Headquarters in Banjul on Thursday, 3rd July, 2014. After his release on Saturday, 28 June 2014, he was asked by the police to report at the police headquarters on Monday 30 June 2014, which he did. When he got there he was asked to report yesterday 1 July, 2014, which he did. He was again asked to report on Thursday, 3 July 2014. Asked if he knows why he was asked to report again, Camara said he was informed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Yankuba Sonko was out of town. According to The Standard reporter though he has not been charged the indication is that he has been accused of false publication. However, readers could recall that Camara’s arrest and subsequent detention at Bundung Police Station came on the heels of a story he published on the Friday edition of the Standard Newspaper. Camara is said to have written a story on human trafficking following an interview he purportedly had with Police spokesperson, ASP David Kujabi.]]>
