Gambia’s home-based Scorpions yesterday lost 1-0 to Ghana courtesy of a second-half goal.
The first half ended a drab goalless affair but with Ghana making some threatening attacks into the Gambian area.
Skipper Cham had chance of equalizing for Gambia from the spot-kick but had his aim rattling on the left post before heading out and Ghana clearing the resultant danger.
The Black Stars defended to end of time despite facing a bombardment of onslaughts from the desperate Scorpion players.
The last time the two teams met, it wrapped up with Ghana picking the spoils and sealing through albeit on a controversial penalty.
