Sheriffo Darboe, alias Dragon Artist, a visual artist and musician is in need of support to expose his artistic talents for the benefit of society.

In an interview with this reporter, Dragon Artist explained how he acquired the artistic skills in visual designs and music which he did not learn from anyone or school.

Darboe, who hails from McCarthy Island (now Janjangbureh) and residing in Tallinding, said he was inspired to be a visual artist (painter) and a musician in order to send positive messages to society.

“I want the children to learn from the messages as well as everyone in society,” said Darboe.

Darboe said he started music almost two years ago. He said he has not yet released an album but is in the process of producing his songs in an album and needs help for this to materialise.

“I have 6 reggae tracks so far and want to add two more tracks to make it eight to make my album complete,” he added.

On the challenges he is facing as an artist, Darboe highlighted the lack of financial resources to record his songs.

He said the authorities should help the artist to protect their works (copyright) from piracy.

Darboe completed his education in 1985 at the Latrikunda Junior Secondary Technical School and after which he started his career as an artist.

He can be contacted through the Foroyaa.
