By Lamin Fatty in URR Reliable sources have confirmed that the Commissioner of Police in URR, Lamin Touray, has been relieved of his position as the Commissioner of Police in the area. The reason for the dismissal of the Senior Police Officer is not known at the time of going to press. This reporter however made efforts to get the opinion of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kemeta Sambou, regarding the dismissal of Commissioner Touray, but he was said to have travelled out of the region. This reporter also made several efforts to get the comment of the Police Spokesperson on the dismissal of Commissioner Touray, but his cell phone was unreachable. Commissioner Touray was said to have spent more than 30 years with the Gambia Police Force as a constable, and rising to the rank of commissioner serving in all regions of The Gambia.
