Inhabitants of Upper River Region (URR) and Central River Region (CRR) have on Monday, 27th of May 2024 received unseasonal rainfall.
The Monday rain began with heavy wind storm followed by rain drops from 8 pm to around 10 pm. On Tuesday morning, the reporter reached out to the metrological department under the department of water resources to discuss with them.
Momodou Sowe, the metrological officer at Basse station told Foroyaa that the Monday rainfall recorded 15.0 millimetres in Fatoto and 15.1milimetres in Basse while Janjnabureh in CRR received 13.1 millimetres.
He stated that it was unseasonal rainfall and it should not be used for croping,
“Farmers should be warned because from today 28th up to next 10 days period any rainfall is considered as unseasonal rainfall,” Mr Sowe said.
Mr. Sowe said farmers should be preparing now as the rainy season is about to start.
