By Sailu Bah Following the statement read out on television by Mr. Bala Garba Jahumpa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in which he said the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries and the European Union (EU) is designed to continue the exploitation and impoverishment of the African continent, Foroyaa wanted more clarification on the issue. In this regard, a letter was written two weeks ago to the Minister of Foreign Affairs requesting for an interview with Minister Jahumpa to get a more comprehensive position on the EPA and the present state of the relationship between the Gambia Government and the European Union (EU) among other related issues. When this reporter visited the Ministry on Wednesday, 17th December 2014, he was told by the Secretary that the letter was received but the request for interview is yet to be granted. Promise was made that Foroyaa will be duly informed as soon as there is confirmation. The minister is said to be out of the country and is expected back next week. ]]>
