Turkish Delegation Led By General Yusuf Aslan Pays Visit to the Ministry Of Interior

The Turkish Delegation, led by General Yusuf Aslan, Head of the Turkish Gendarmerie Special Forces, paid a visit to the Ministry of Interior at the Ministry’s Complex on Thursday 21st December 2023.

Honorable Siaka Sonko, the Minister of the Interior, extended a warm welcome to General Aslan on behalf of President HE Adama Barrow, acknowledging Turkey as a steadfast ally of The Gambia. The Minister highlighted the invaluable support provided by Turkey in terms of training and logistics, benefiting The Gambia Police Force.

Expressing his delight at the cordial reception, General Yusuf Aslan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to supporting The Gambia Police Force. He conveyed the purpose of the visit, emphasizing its importance in initiating a series of engagements aimed at fortifying the relationship between the police forces of both nations.

General Aslan’s subsequent itinerary includes a visit to the Police Headquarters in Banjul.

General Yusuf Alsan, head of The Turkish Gendarmerie Special Force, was warmly received by the Deputy Inspector General of Police Momodou Sowe and senior police officers at the Police Headquarters in Banjul Thursday December, 21, 2023.

Upon welcoming General Yusuf to the Office of The Inspector General of Police Abdoulie Sanyang expressed appreciation for the Turkish Police and extended a cordial welcome.

 The two Generals engaged in discussions regarding areas of support, focusing on training and logistics for The Gambia Police Force.

Commissioner Sambujang Fatty, the head of Police Policy, Planning and Training of GPF, delivered presentations on the strategy and work plan of The Gambia Police.

The General and his delegates are scheduled to visit various police units and installations.
