Real de Banjul will be expecting a mammoth task after letting slip their 
home advantage over the weekend.
Visitors Barrack Young Controller picked a vital away point following a one-all stalemate with Real.
The Liberian champions stunned the hosts with an early goal after three minutes ticked in the first-half.
The opener woke up the Gambian side from their slumber as they rallied late on to latch home an equalizing goal from a free-kick to force a share of the spoils. Lamine Jabateh’s goal in the third minute fired up the visitors and panicked the hosts –a fragile lead they held till break.
However, the resumption of the game saw a heavily surging Real dominate with new entrant Sawo engineering the midfield and BYC to the back foot.
Pressing forward, with Famara Jarju allowed to switch between the flanks and creating the dimension for Sawo to hold up with Alagie Bah at his wake, Real’s gaffer Amat Cham could not have been luckier.
The imposing Sawo and his runs are to be commended, as he clattered home the game’s final goal and Real’s equalizer from a free-kick that was some yards from the opposing team’s box.
The result means BYC will be going into the second-leg with an away goal advantage in Bamako, Mali. Real must beat BYC to qualify or score more goals to book a place in the second round of the qualifiers. Winner of this encounter in a fortnight faces defending champions Sporting Setif.]]>
