Tijan Jaiteh’s future is in limbo with the midfielder yet to sort out his contract with Finnish Premier League Tijan Jaiteh 3outfit KuPS.

Captain of the Gambia team that bit the dust to Cameroon in Yaounde, Jaiteh switched to KuPS April this year on an eight-month contract running out at 2016’s end. He departed Slovenia’s Koper where he reportedly found playing time hard to come by amid successive injuries.

Opting to cross the border, the Gambia international sought a move to Finnish Premier League and subsequently signed for KuPS having enquired about football in the Scandinavian country.

The 26-year-old penned a deal with the Yellow and Blacks playing twenty-six of the club’s thirty-three domestic league games and scoring once.

Following an initial struggle at start of the league, the former Gambia U-20 man would go on to secure a permanent place in the team and is now considered one of the club’s key stars in midfield.

Club faithful have taken to the Gambian but the team board’s instance to hand foreign-based players in its roster a 12-month contract which, in Tijan’s case, is scheduled to run out December 31st,  have had uncertainty lingering over the player.

There are talks of possible renewal being discussed between the club and the player and something concrete, it is predicted, might come of the negotiations. Interest from league giants SJK or Helsinki is also heavily touted including a possible return to Norwegian football where it all started for the ex-Gambia Ports Authority playmaker.
