SOLO BOJANG STILL IN NIA DETENTION

Solo Bojang, the former Commanding Officer of the StateColonel Solo Bojang Guards at the president’s home village of Kanilai as well as the ex manager of the Kanilai Family Farm, is still detained at a detention centre at Tanji in Kombo South for 277 days now, according to a close family source.The source also indicated that he is detained incommunicado as his family does not have access to him while in detention. The former army officer was facing a four count charge of ‘Abuse of office’, ‘False information’, ‘Conspiracy’ and ‘Theft’ before the Brikama Magistrates’ Court. On 12 May 2014, he was acquitted and discharged on three counts but convicted and sentenced to a fine of D50, 000 on one of the charges which was reportedly paid. However, he was immediately arrested and whisked away after he was released by the court and was held incommunicado since then.]]>
