QUESTION OF THE DAY

SHOULD A CANDIDATE BE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BY GRTS?

Section 33 of the constitution does not permit discrimination by public officers while performing their duty. Needless to say during the campaign period (16 to 29 November) the Independent Electoral Commission takes charge to ensure that the public broadcaster displays fairness in coverage and party political broadcast.

Whenever a candidate is treated unfairly he/she has the right to raise the matter with the IEC for resolution.
