By Sulayman Bah League champions Real De Banjul (RDB) have step up their pursuit of Ebou Sanyangforward Ebou Sanyang after entering into negotiations with the player’s club Interior, Foroyaa Sport can reveal. Ebou Sanyang has been tipped to join the capital-based outfit for a long time. Ebou Sanyang nicknamed ‘Torres’ has been on the wish-list of the The All Whites –one of Gambia’s most organised domestic club. Real’s interest, it is believed, dates back from last season to the time the skill-struck starlet was picked by the Gambia U-20 coach. Aware of Real’s pursuit of their play-maker, Interior FC –a police outfit – have been playing hard ball and are said to have warn RDB off their prized asset. The situation took a new trajectory prompting a protracted saga after the player, reportedly having grown disillusioned of his club’s refusal to allow him a transfer, decided, out of his own volition, to forcefully join Real de Banjul even without a transfer being sanctioned. The move, according to a highly-placed source, irked the police outfit when Torres decided against returning instead practicing with Real –an apparent tactic to force Interior to reconsider their position and negotiate. That desperate decision, however, has succeeded with Interior and Real de Banjul already locked in talks over reaching a transfer fee, Foroyaa Sport can reveal. Reached for comment,  Real’s President Willy Abraham, this publication yesterday afternoon: ‘there is a correspondence between the two clubs (Real and Interior). We are now negotiating to secure the player.’ To which Interior’s gaffer Yaya Darboe affirmed to Foroyaa Sport, saying: ‘Torres is an Interior player. We talking with them (Real De Banjul) for over a transfer but we are yet to reach a final agreement.’ Real have swoop in on a number of players in an effort to grab a spot in the lucrative group stage of the Orange CAF Champions League. They are drawn with Liberia’s Barrack Young Controllers (BYC). Meanwhile, the Liberian club has been asked by Confederation of African Football not to host their qualifier match in Monrovia against Real de Banjul due to ongoing ebola epidemic there. According to reports, BYC received a Caf circular three days ago advising them to look for a neutral venue and not stage their encounter against Real in Liberia. The Gambian club’s participation in CAF CL was initially hanging on a knife edge after been seeded with the aforesaid club. The GFF league holders are however yet to receive any formal communique advising them against taking part. Ebola has claimed over 8,000 lives with over three thousand of the death toll from Liberia. 21,700 people are said to be infected of the rampaging disease if statistics from Centre for Disease Control and Prevention are any to go by.]]>
