Project Kerstin Gambia, in collaboration with Gambian counterparts, has taken steps to revive and enhance Findi production in the Wuli East Village of Sutukoba, Upper River Region (URR).
The initiative aims to eradicate hunger, revive and enhance Findi production and help boost livelihood of the producers.
Speaking in an interview with Kerstin Strian, an Italian philanthropist said the ultimate objectives of the project are to revive Findi production, help attain food self-sufficiency through the production of Findi and help boost livelihood earning of farmers, who are engaged in the production of the crop.
She said she has been coming to the country to help in enhancing agricultural production, particularly in Sutukoba. And in an effort to address hunger, she has conducted a research and realized that it is essential to help mechanize some of the post-harvest Findi production activities.
