By Sulayman Bah Four associations were the beneficiaries of D4, 032,015 worth of donatedGNOC’s Beatrice sporting materials. The donated items given to the Handball, Volleyball, Basketball and Athletics associations, were yesterday afternoon handed over to them in a ceremony held at the Gambia National Olympic Committee headquarters. The items, facilitated by Olympic House, comprises high jump landing mats, high jump stand, pro starting blocks, discuss stand, short put stand, javelin stand, discuss, short put, hammers totaling D2,103,465 for athletics. Volleyball received nets and posts –three sets six pieces on a figure of D162, 150 with handball securing also nets and posts three sets six pieces at D369, 150 and basket three sets and six pieces valued at D1, 397,250. The materials, according to the NOC, are meant to facilitate and boost the growth of the various sporting disciplines. The beneficiary associations were also urged to make proper use of the items.]]>
