NO RULING ON BAIL APPLICATION FOR FARABA AND CO DUE TO DEFENCE’S ABSENCE

Abdoulie G. Dibba The ruling on the bail application for Faraba Jallow and Sara Jallow, who wereJustice E. Amadi convicted by the Kaur Magistrates’ Court on 16 September, could not be delivered on the 9 October 2014 due to the absence of Lamin K. Mboge, the defence counsel. It could be recalled that defence counsel. Mboge had on Thursday, 2 October, 2014 applied for bail on behalf of Alhagi Faraba Jallow and Sara Jallow pending the outcome of an appeal filed by the appellants before Justice Emmanuel Amadi of the High Court in Banjul. However, following the submission of his application and the reply by the Director of Public Prosecutor Saleh H. Barkum and the subsequent response of the defence on points of Law, the case was adjourned to Thursday, 9 October, 2014 for a ruling on the bail application and hearing of the appeal. The ruling, however, could not be delivered due to the absence of the defence counsel.  ]]>
